Arijit Singh to receive Padma Shri award

The Indian government released the complete list of Padma award recipients for 2025. These prestigious civilian honours are classified into three categories: Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri.

One name that stands out the most is Bollywood's leading musician, Arijit Singh, who will be conferred with the Padma Shri, India's fourth-highest civilian award. Arijit Singh has had a remarkable career in music.

He first gained recognition in 2005 at the age of 18 when he participated in the reality show Fame Gurukul. Although he didn't win, his musical talent and command over melodies were widely appreciated. Since making his Bollywood debut, he has lent his voice to numerous hit songs across various languages.

Some of his most popular Bollywood tracks include "Tum Hi Ho', "Lutt Putt Gaya", "Chaleya, "O Sajni Re", "Jhoome Jo Pathaan", "Kesariya", and many more. Musicians Arijit Singh and Ricky Kej have been recognized with the Padma Shri for their contributions to the field of music.
